What everyone needs to know about entrepreneurship

Money, Cash, Hoes…

Was my anthem as a teenager (kinda) minus the hoes. It’s actually the title of a song from Jay-Z’s album Vol 2…Hard Knock Life released in 1998. I would bump this song on my portable CD player while mowing yards under the blazing hot Colorado summer sun.At the time I thought I was the shit and still remember what it was like to be making money for the first time on my own. I felt like a rapper who was making millions.

Being a 13-year-old with a successful lawn-mowing business gave me superpowers and swag I didn’t know I could possess. But here’s the catch…As my business was beginning to grow I realized for the first time how lonely entrepreneurship can be.

My whole life from my parents to school I was given orders and told what to do.

Now, I was the one in charge of making decisions flying solo. Entrepreneurship looks glamorous on the outside but when you first start out you will feel lonely. This is natural.

You haven’t been conditioned to feel fully comfortable in your new role as an entrepreneur. Good things take time. Harry Carry the former famous Chicago Cubs announcer said it took him 2 years before he was fully comfortable announcing games and found his true voice. Give yourself time and try to enjoy the process of being an entrepreneur. It has many highs and lows but in the end, it’s worth it. Let’s get it

Cheers,
